Image Tagging Image:Luxor Pylon.JPG
[edit]This image may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Luxor Pylon.JPG. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Matt 13:48, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
I have made this photograph personally. The lady in front with the white shirt is my ex-wife. I don't know which actions I need to take now. Thx Harm 19:35, 23, Januari 2006 (GMT +1)
I have found the license policy and changed the licenses of all my photographs. Harm Frielink 22:32, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Ulster Tower Thiepval
[edit]Regarding your comments on my user page:
1) In terms of the things deleted as irrelevant: There was no reason for the section on fallen Orangemen to be on the Ulster Tower page, and so I moved that information to the Orange Institution page. The section on political significance, while interesting, also has no place on that page. An appropriate place might be a page on War commemorations in Ireland or War memorials in Ireland or similar. A page like that should probably be created anyway. In short, content on the Ulster Tower page should be limited to information directly relevant to the Ulster Tower, not a history of Irish war memorials, dead Orangemen etc. These things have their place on Wikipedia, but the Ulster Tower page isn't it.
2) If you point out specific inaccuracies in my work on the Ulster Tower page I will of course make changes - or you could make them yourself. Apart from the deletions, the only real change I made was to point out that the tower commemorates the 36th (Ulster) Division and not just the men of the Orange Order, as the page previously said. The Orange Order memorial is in the grounds of the Tower, and is not the Tower itself. This information is in every source on the Tower I've read. I have added a footnote referring to Steven Moore's battlefield guide The Irish on the Somme, which I should have done earlier.
3) No, I have not been to the Ulster Tower, but I have read numerous books, articles etc about it and about the Ulster Division's participation in World War I. It is not good faith to accuse people of knowing nothing about a subject they have contributed on, although I admit that my lack of references probably contributed to your assumption. Also, in future it is a good idea to add new posts at the bottom of the page, rather than in the middle. --Helenalex 16:41, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
NowCommons: Image:Philae first pylons.jpg
[edit]Image:Philae first pylons.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:Image:Philae first pylons1.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:Philae first pylons1.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 20:15, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Harm.frielink! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Lyn MacDonald - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 06:46, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
I have added one reference and will add more in due time.Harm Frielink (talk) 13:21, 20 January 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:CodeWright.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:CodeWright.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:54, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:20, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Non-free rationale for File:StarryNightEnt.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:StarryNightEnt.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:37, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Spikey 004.JPG
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Spikey 004.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:44, 20 April 2016 (UTC)
