Why did you remove my update on the Persky Recall in the Brock Turner case?

[edit]

Is an MSNBC produced short documentary not a notable work? Wikipedia lists MSNBC as a 'generally reliable source'.

Section removed: In 2022, Harvard Law Lecturer, Rebecca Richman Cohen, produced a short documentary entitled THE RECALL: REFRAMED exploring the unintended consequences of the recall of Judge Aaron Persky which came at the height of the #MeToo movement in 2018. The film used the Turner case to critique the knee-jerk demand for harsh sentences to address sexual violence – a demand that disproportionately impacts low-income and people of color. It asks how we might imagine better ways of addressing sexual violence, opening the door to conversations about restorative and transformative justice, and truly supporting survivors. https://www.msnbc.com/jonathan-capehart/watch/a-new-documentary-short-explores-the-recall-of-judge-aaron-persky-165663813608 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.43.106.63 (talk) 16:53, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I thought you'd just readded it with the same youtube citation. I've restored it. Bkatcher (talk) 17:13, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks. 137.43.106.63 (talk) 17:39, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Opportunity rover edits

[edit]

65.50.136.45 will answer your questions you asked on Opportunity (rover) 1. What is Oppy? Well, Oppy is the nickname for the Opportunity rover. "Opportunity, also known as MER-B (Mars Exploration Rover – B) or MER-1, and nicknamed Oppy,[8] is a robotic rover that was active on Mars from 2004 until mid-2018."

The Unsourced part of the timeline diverts from an earlier edit made by me. Then, it got deleted. I revised the part and put it back, but I must forgotten the resources.

Sincerely, 65.50.136.45 (talk) 19:25, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine, but Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and we don't refer to things in the article body by nicknames. When don't refer to Abraham Lincoln, for instance, as Honest Abe in the article or Ronald Reagan as The Gipper. Thank you for your other fine edits.Bkatcher (talk) 20:16, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

But Arthur, malediction sucks so hard, Bkatcher. It sucks so hard. Stvincent1999 (talk) 18:48, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have absolutely no doubt about that, it sounds dreadful. But with 120 years of cinema, we have to be very selective about what's here. It can't merely suck, it has to be one of those cautionary tales of filmmaking that people will be talking about in 2050. Bkatcher (talk) 19:40, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I know. That's why i think it's one of the worst films i've have ever seen. Didn't made me scared one bit it reminds me like Friedberg and Seltzer, The Wicker Man, Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows, I Know Who Killed Me and the sequels excluding Jim Carrey (minus Evan Almighty due to me loving it), I mean I love Arthur and the Invisibles trilogy, but this film disrespects my favorite into a soler cheap horror cash grab flick despite being a children's franchise, That's why is one of the worst films of all time. Stvincent1999 (talk) 20:52, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I only love those movies because of Freddie Highmore while the rest featured Snoop Dogg and Mia Farrow and the first one one of my favorite comedians Jimmy Fallon David Bowie and Robert De Niro. Stvincent1999 (talk) 20:53, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Funny you should mention Fia Farrow. I just watched Avalanche (1978 film). Not her best work. Ever see On Deadly Ground? Bkatcher (talk) 12:54, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I know, Bkatcher. That's why Arthur, malediction is one of the worst movies ever made, because its disrepects the franchise and tasteless like Caddyshack 2. Stvincent1999 (talk) 16:01, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It sucks when they make a poor sequel to an excellent work. The same thing happened to my favorite book, Catch-22. Bkatcher (talk) 23:20, 18 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I know. Bkatcher. Stvincent1999 (talk) 09:50, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Just hope that Arthur, malediction might receive Golden Raspberry Awards (or Razzie) nominations, Bkatcher. Stvincent1999 (talk) 17:39, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

List of Presidential firsts for George H.W. Bush

[edit]

I thought that since Bush was only the second Vice-President to live at the residence after Walter Mondale and since he was elected as President that I could be listed as a fact. [1] I also assumed that since the source I provided in the article included this picture of Bush living at the residence after his victory that it provided that fact.

--And1987 (talk) 04:53, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can see the fact being relevant, but a picture doesn't confirm that he was the FIRST former VP to live there. Bkatcher (talk) 13:12, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you undo my contribution to the list of fictional European countries?

[edit]

You commented it was "non notable." What makes a contribution to that page "notable"? It was from a work of fiction, as they all are, and I cited my source. RoboticFisherman (talk) 22:23, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delay, I've been on vacation. I'm afraid I don't remember my reason, so if you want to undo the deletion, I won't fight you. Bkatcher (talk) 00:35, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

List of First Lady firsts for Barbara Bush

Should we include the fact that she was the first First Lady to appear on Sesame Street or is it not that important? [3] And1987 (talk) 18:08, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your destructive edit to "Violet (Peanuts)"

[edit]

Thank you so much for your idiotic slash-and-burn editing of the "Violet (Peanuts)" article. No, this is not polite; your deplorable action doesn't deserve such civility. 2601:545:8201:6290:48AA:2B62:7D5D:C14B (talk) 13:15, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No resume

[edit]

I thought you said, no resumes, right? Well, suit yourself. I beg your pardon, I'm sure. It was done by wherever I put in the U.S. delegations at the Closing Ceremony, PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics. Thanks, anyway. 108.21.67.83 (talk) 04:25, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I know, and your edits were great. But that article is about a Korean Olympic ceremony, and we don't need to mention which political party an attending US senator belongs to or what committees they serve on. That's not super relevant. Otherwise, great work. Bkatcher (talk) 04:30, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

List of Unusual Deaths

[edit]

Yo bro, why do you keep deleting my entries man, I not only had reliable sources talking about them, but they were also unusual, sure the source didn't directly call it unusual, but they're still pretty strange Bdblakley29 (talk) 21:28, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The rules of the article (which have been in place for years) state the citations must describe the death as unusual or a synonym. Otherwise we get into endless debates over what constitutes 'strange.' I've had my own entries deleted. Bkatcher (talk) 01:40, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, what about Menes' death Bdblakley29 (talk) 09:38, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
or John Cummings' death or Henry Taylor's death, those sources don't call the deaths unusual or any other synonym Bdblakley29 (talk) 09:45, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Menes is cited by a book, so it's hard to confirm or deny. Taylor's citation describes his death as 'bizarre', a synonym for unusual. As for Cummings, you are correct. Feel free to delete his entry. Bkatcher (talk) 19:00, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yo, man why did you delete my entry on Sisera, I know It didn't directly say it was unusual, but another entry, Eleazar Avaran has the same source (the literal bible) Bdblakley29 (talk) 22:34, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The source for Avaran is a book called the 'Funniest and Weirdest Ways People Died' or something like that. Find a book that describes Sisera's death as unusual and I won't touch it. Bkatcher (talk) 22:54, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
alright, that is true. Bdblakley29 (talk) 23:56, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you undo my changes to the "Left- and right-hand traffic" topic?

[edit]

I am a Cantonese, don't I know my own history about what happened on my place? Or would you know more about this history than me? Or do I need to provide more evidence for that changing? Sunny666 (talk) 08:24, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That was a few weeks ago, so I don't remember. Looking at the edit, it was unsourced and there were gramatical errors. If you restore it, I won't revert it, though you should add a citation. Unfortunately on Wikipedia, knowing something isn't enough, you have to have a reference. Bkatcher (talk) 12:34, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
