Mrs Cameron vs Swampy
[edit]In a 2007 video of David Cameron, now UK Prime Minister, taken in Blackpool at the Conservative Party Conference, he states that his mum prosecuted Swampy. See YouTube: Mrs Cameron vs Swampy AndrewRH (talk) 21:13, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
- IMO this should be included in the article Jonpatterns (talk) 18:53, 6 January 2014 (UTC)
Dual Carriage / Motorway
[edit]A rather anal point, I admit, but the A30 is not a motorway. Only roads with 'M' classifications are motorways, and there are several important differences between 'A' and 'M' roads. An 'M' road (i.e. a motorway) must have at least two carriageways in each direction, a hard shoulder (i.e. an extra carriageway which is not used except in emergencies) and no roundabouts or sharp bends. The only main similarity between a dual carriageway 'A' road and a motorway is that the normal speed limit is 70mph. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.26.117.108 (talk • contribs) 23:18, 21 March 2005
- Seriously, if anyone is reading the above thinking of making a comment at a similar level - don't - just change it, no-one will revert you. This project would never have got to where it was discussing things like this, just take action and be bold if it seems obvious and reasonable. Halsteadk (talk) 19:37, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
Neutral Language
[edit]07 - Mar - 2006 Surely the last paragraph in the article needs editing or deletion. It appears to be a highly subjective viewpoint of on particular incident, almost completely unrelated to the person to whom the article relates. the use of language such as 'invaded' and 'provoked' is not proper to this article. Additionally, to label this sort of protestor as an environmental 'extremist' is not a widely held viewpoint, and is probably representative of the authors personal prejudice.
- I would of thought spending a week underground to stop someone building a road was quite an extreme act.195.172.215.82 09:56, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
I would guess that he most certainly is regarded as an environmental extremist. Rustygecko (talk) 03:36, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
2006 sunday mirror story
[edit]I've just removed the following link from the external links section -
- Sunday Mirror - EXCLUSIVE: SWAMPY FOUND (2006)
because the story has apparently been moved or removed and that link just redirects to the site front page. I've only spent a couple of minutes looking for it, but I've moved it here in case anyone else wants to see if they have more success. Thryduulf (talk) 23:57, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

Requested move 31 January 2019
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Page moved as Swampy (environmentalist) and Swampy (disambiguation) moved to Swampy. (closed by non-admin page mover) Warm Regards, ZI Jony (Talk) 13:48, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
It was proposed in this section that Swampy (environmentalist) be renamed and moved to Swampy (environmental activist).
The discussion has been closed, and the result will be found in the closer's comment. Links: current log • target log |
Swampy → Swampy (environmental activist) – Too many of the links were intended for Swamp; that is probably the primary topic. Peter James (talk) 16:35, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support some sort of move, but the disambiguation page should be moved to the basename of "Swampy". Also, not sure what the best parenthetical term should be for the environmental activist. Paintspot Infez (talk) 18:36, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Support At least the first move, not sure if it should redirect to Swamp but at least the person isn't primary. Yes its an unlikely search/link target (due to how we title things and most would probably search) but there seems to be enough ambiguity here to at least support the 1st move. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:33, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Weak support - the "environmental activist" part sounds odd, but I don't know how to improve it. I agree that the page should become a disambiguation page rather than a redirect to swamp --DannyS712 (talk) 03:46, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support, move to Swampy (environmentalist) and move Swampy (disambiguation) to the baseline... In ictu oculi (talk) 12:14, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support and also support moving the disambiguation page to Swampy.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 16:23, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support move, but for the sake of brevity would suggest Swampy (activist) or Swampy (environmentalist). PC78 (talk) 16:23, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
- A look at Category:British environmentalists suggests that (environmentalist) is the usual disambiguation. PC78 (talk) 16:25, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
- Support Swampy (environmentalist) and move Swampy (disambiguation) to Swampy. He had his brief moment of fame/notoriety a long time ago. No longer primary, if he ever was. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:10, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
