Wikipedia:Requests for page protection

Page semi-protected
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Wikipedia:RFP)
Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: It`s been edited by someone who shouldnt have the authority to edit what was effectively an acurate page. Your "editor" has already been cited many times as being extremely biased against certain protected categories and allows his fetishes to dictate what and how he edits! 124.244.164.104 (talk) 08:02, 9 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Change the death part to assassination, so then the article will be more specific to explain on that part Fredd the boy (talk) 20:43, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done but it really doesn't matter if somebody changes it back, because the entire section already calls it assassination, and even to the article that is already titled that way. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:23, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I want to request to change the article name because clearly Israel didn't invade the whole Lebanon and it's not it intention. They said that their operation is to drive Hezbollah from south Lebanon So i want to make request to change it into 2024 israeli invasion of south lebanon أحمد توفيق (talk) 12:56, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"Zionists wanted to create a Jewish state in Palestine with as much land, as many Jews, and as few Palestinian Arabs as possible." This is an opinion and interpretation of Zionism. You cannot present this in the opening page about Zionism since it is not one of the main aspects of Zionism at all, and not a universal aspect of Zionism and most certainly was not a priority in Zionist ideology. It was an aspiration of several factions of Zionism and was acted upon during the 1947-1949 civil war in Palestine. In her work, Manna, Adel (2022), argues for this interpretation because during the war "the principal objective of the Zionist leadership to keep as few Arabs as possible in the Jewish state" (p.2) and "in the 1948 war, when it became clear that the objective that enjoyed the unanimous support of Zionists of all inclinations was to establish a Jewish state with the smallest possible number of Palestinians" (p.4). These were war objectives and not key tenets of Zionism. Mana then goes above and beyond and claims: "The Zionists had two cherished objectives: fewer Arabs in the country and more land in the hands of the settlers" (p.33). First, this is also a war objective and not an ideological objective. You can also say the same about the other side "The Arab countries had two cherished objectives: fewer Jews in the country and more land in the hands of Arabs". While both are true, they were not a key tenet in their ideology (and I would argue that Arabs made clear they wished the land to be Jew-free more than the Jews wanted it to be Arab-free, they just couldn't act upon it because of military inferiority). Furthermore, this statement was never proven, but simply given as a fact and quoted here on Wikipedia. The Zionists main objective was to secure safe borders regardless and prevent Arab countries from occupying any land that was part of the British Mandate for Palestine. In their aim to do so, the most strategic move, was to occupy as much land and depopulate it from the civilian population that was hostile to the Jews and supportive of the Arab countries. This is not an opinion, this is a fact of war and you don't need to be a military strategist to understand the logic in that. I would suggest that you simply write "Zionists wanted to create a Jewish state in Palestine". The rest of the sentence is Mana's own beliefs and thoughts and is highly disputable and a personal slander for most Zionists. You cannot write this on Wikipedia which should be a neutral ground. You can move that part to a sub-chapter and write "Many scholars today believe that Zionists wanted to create a Jewish state in Palestine with as much land, as many Jews, and as few Palestinian Arabs as possible". This means that it is not a neutral fact and is open for debate! But if you honor your own neutrality, as you write in the Page title "Wikipedia:Neutral point of view" (All encyclopedic content on Wikipedia must be written from a neutral point of view (NPOV), which means representing fairly, proportionately, and, as far as possible, without editorial bias), then take that sentence down from the opening page and most certainly don't write it as a fact, because it isn't a fact, it isn't neutral and it is most certainly not bias. @EshcharG: Mighty Wall O' Text requests will not be entertained. If you want people to take your request seriously, you need to be as concise and clear as possible. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 16:28, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request that in the Casualties and losses section, "1,000+ Lebanese civilians killed[36]" will be removed or rephrased. That is because the article itself doesn't mention if they were civilians or fighters, while Hezbollah hasn't published official death numbers since the beeper attack. Thus we can't know how many civilians were killed - and the Al Jazeera article doesn't say it either — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.55.173.215 (talkcontribs) 16:40, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
