Yellow paper

[edit]

Is yellow paper limited to cryptocurrency? I've only seen it in that context. kencf0618 (talk) 17:57, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This is possible. I haven't been able to find a single example of a preprint being called a yellow paper before 2013. However, CERN has published for decades a so-called "Yellow Report", apparently with papers that for some reason or another would not have been appropriate for publishing in a journal(?). "A white paper is the first document researchers should read to better understand a core concept or idea."

[edit]

I'm not entirely sure about the use of the word "should" here. See the first point under WP:NOTHOW. I would make an edit, but I don't have the subject knowledge to decide what an appropriate replacement would be. AlexGallon (talk) 22:01, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Policy Paper

[edit]

Policy Paper is redirected here, but there's no mention of it. Plus, position and white papers are descriptive, while policy papers are prescriptive. Dan Bollinger (talk) 15:16, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
